How Does Phi Do It?

Below will give you a basic understanding of our process – that being said we can’t give away all of our secrets here on our website. In Project Management terms, there are 5 phases to a project – Initiation, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing. These are the basic steps that all projects move through from idealization through completion. At Phi Projects, we break it down into our 3 “I’s”.

Integration

Our integration phase brings together the Initiation and Planning phases identified above. Why do we do this? It’s simple, you have an idea for a project but need help putting all of the building blocks together, this is where we come in. We first need to Integrate with you and your business to understand your needs, your timelines, your budget, and your constraints. While compiling this information is the Initiation phase of the project, it is also the beginning of the Planning phase. Once the requirements of the project are understood and mutually agreed upon we further Integrate the remainder of the project team which could be Consultants, a Design-Builder, or an Integrated Project Partner. This is where it starts getting fun!

Innovation

The earlier Innovation starts in a project the greater the possibilities for a successful outcome. Innovation, our second “I”, continues the Planning phase into the beginning of the design of your project. While designing we strive to push the project team to look at the needs of the project over the needs to oneself – We over Me. After all, a project team is greater than the sum of its parts. With the team concentrating on bringing value to the project Innovation starts to come alive. We break down the barriers between team members to create a cohesive team that feels comfortable and free to share their thoughts and suggestions no matter how outlandish they may be because this is where innovation lives. By Innovating as a part of your project we can bring value to the project. This value can come in different forms – uniqueness, greater functionality than originally anticipated, time savings, cost savings, the possibilities are endless.

Implementation

Our final “I” – Implementation. In Project Management terms this phase incorporates the Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, and the Closing phases into one. This is the phase that you get to see your dreams start to take shape in physical form. Using Building Information Modelling (BIM) during the design phase the project team will have already identified the possible site and construction issues and rectified them through design – the most cost-efficient way to solve problems. This leads to a reduction of time on-site working through these issues and allowing for continuous construction through this phase. We work with the project team on your behalf to ensure costs are minimized, the schedule is managed and construction and finishes are of the highest quality. Once construction is complete, we will work with the project team to compile the operations and maintenance manuals, update the as-built drawings and identify and provide training to you for all systems.
